Guess Who's 3?

Today, October 24th, 2007 marks the third year in the life of Parker James Jenkins. He had a BIG time... gymnastics, library, Padaro Grill (with cool Nathan), and a NEW BIKE!!!!!!! We look forward to celebrating with more friends and family on Saturday. Enjoy these pictures of Parker not only on his new bike, but learning to do "the double" (that would be two thumbs up at a time for those of you who don't remember that commercial).

Church Clothes

Getting ready for church yesterday I decided to dismiss the usual t-shirt and jeans for my boys and put them in some collared shirts. They were too cute I had to take a picture or two or three. These boys are hilarious!

Solomon Constantine Balli

Congrats to the Balli family. This morning at 7:31 am they welcomed Solomon into this world! He came in at 8lbs. 13oz and 20 inches! He's beautiful! Dom and Emily are doing great and Selah loves her new brother. It's so exciting. In case anyone was wondering he was exactly one week past his due date and Emily had NO DRUGS! You go girl! What a blessing his little life is already!!!!

Parker's First Day at Gymnastics

He loved it!!!! His hardest thing was listening to Coach Suzie with so many new things to look at and play on. She said that all the kids do that their first day and sometimes their first few months! God willing it wont be THAT long! Thanks for all the prayers... he was indeed brave!

baby gap

there is something that happens when a child passes through the womb, that strikes the heart of a man. a love that is God breathed and ordained and almost automatic, is given for the offspring that you helped create. it is unconditional, genuine, and truly selfless. i found that true for both of my boys, but prior to silas being born i had voiced some concerns about dividing my love between two sons. i couldn't even imagine the thought of loving another kid as much as, or anywhere near as much as park. and even after silas' birth i struggled to connect with him and create that same sort of bond that existed between me and parker. i was mentally struggling to create that relationship that i had with my oldest, and because that life experience was not there yet, i felt guilty as if i loved silas less. it took a week or so to realize that this relationship had to develop, as did parkers, i just never realized it because there was nothing to reference. as silas grew i began to fall deeper in love with him. every day a little more of his personality would surface until he became the sunshine he is now. as time went on i now am aware of the fact that my love for my boys is not split between the two, but double measured, independent and unique for each. now silas is the joy of my day. he has me smitten. dont tell park, but he is the first kid i want to come home to and lay some fat zerberts on for like 45 minutes. he is always good to give up a quick laugh or a gap toothed smile. i guess my point is...i love my son very much. i shouldn't have worried as much as i did.

fire truck cake and tractor rides...what dreams are made of.

palm springs is the location of this years family reunion for Jenns side of the family. during the festivities we celebrated parkers 3rd birthday a little early. it just so happened that a tractor was being used in the backyard to revamp the pool. A perfect oppurtunity to give parker what he has always wanted...a tractor ride! the man who owned the tractor was very generous and created an awesome experience for parker, let him control the arm and everything, it was truly memorable. to cap it all off he got a fire truck cake, a garbage truck (and guy), and a fantastic baloon fight with all the cousins. we are having an epic time.

Avocado Festival 2007

This years Carpinteria Avo Fest was a hit. MANY people came to know the Lord this morning on Eight St! Britt brought the gospel and Dom rocked worship and JESUS changed lives! And then we had chips with guac, strawberry smoothies and taquitos! GOOD TIMES! After service Dom's band played and Chris rapped, but I was a tad busy wrestling my three year old bear to take pictures of that awesome moment. Chris was amazing as usual!

Kate's Nacho Party

Today was Kate Merrick's birthday and she decided to have a Nacho Libre celebration. The rule was to come dressed in Nacho Libre attire or something that would have been in the movie. Needless to say what that rule brought forth was priceless. Chris Jenkins or "the oaxacan huedo" took home FIRST PRIZE for best costume!!!! There was chips, beans and even corn on a stick. Here are some awesome pictures of the event...
