Powder

Silas loves him some powder... to a fault

Parker the Preemie

This morning Chris took Parker for his physical (an early 4 year physical because of school). This kid who was born five weeks early weighing in at 6lbs 2oz and with bad jaundice is now a MOOSE! He will be four in October and weighs 45 lbs and is 42 inches! I mean that's almost a pound an inch. I love this bug guy so much. Sometimes when we are getting ready to read books or watch a movie he says "Mommy I want to sit on your cozy lap". I can't see the movie or read the book or even breathe sometimes, but I LOVE it!!!!

brother yun

Tonight was a night to remember! If you haven't ever read this book or seen or heard this man you are missing out! Brother Yun is a Chinese man who has been banished from China, and who might have the gnarliest testimony of anyone I've ever heard! It was a packed out at Reality Carp tonight! Chris and I were on the floor in the front with Chris' parents behind us as back rests. From start to finish Brother Yun shared story after story of the awesomeness of our Lord. There really was just too much to share. I HIGHLY recommend going to the website and listening to the message www.jesusisreality.com. But I will share this... as he was ending the night he talked about being a prisoner and was a "dorm steward" if you will, to the prisoners on death row. A serial killer was placed in his cell before the guy was sentenced to death. Brother Yun was able to share the Lord with him and the guy accepted Jesus and was baptized and repented of his sins before his sentence was carried out. Then he even wrote a note to his parents on toilet paper in his own blood (because he had nothing else to write with) and asked Brother Yun to give it to his family when he got out... which he did and that guys whole family kneeled down and came to the Lord too. Gnarly stuff my friends!!! It was a great blessing!!!!

Monkey See Monkey Do

If you follow my brother and sister in laws blog then you know where Parker get this. He was being like Myles and wrestling. It was pretty cute.... I was cleaning out the freezer and Parker starts taking off all his "fire clothes" and then is gone for a long time and comes out with this on and I was quick enough to capture some pictures. Sadly when we were at Disneyland we dropped our camera and the video feature doesn't work anymore so all I have are pictures. These kids are too much! Myles.... this one's for you....

End of Summer Reggae Cruise

This was a good time everyone! 97.5 hosted this cruise aboard the condor express. As we cruised around the Santa Barbara harbor the band rocked it! It was awesome. Of course there was a fair share of drinkers and the unfortunate mishaps that come with them, but all in all it was a good time. No one puked! I was amazed because the boat was a rockin! We danced, laughed and heard great music, snuggled between sets, laughed more, danced more and then heard more great music. The band did awesome!!!!!! Despite the occasional times they had to hold onto the rails while they were playing :0)

west beach

the show went awesome at west beach on saturday. a huge stage with great sound and we gave the gospel to a few hundred people. we played first @ the main stage, hours and hours before the big bands played so it was a humble crowd, but all in all a good experience. here are a few pix from the festival.

First Day of Preschool (and our broken down car)

Today was the big day! The first official day of Parker's school career. He has been waiting for this day his entire life! We got ready this morning, got in the car and arrived to preschool. He was so excited that he booked it out of the car and ran STRAIGHT to the front gate and through the front gate to the world of preschool. We went to his cubbie to get his name tag and then he was off to explore. It was so cute he said "bye mom I love you"... that was it! He's all grown. It felt like such a natural transition for all of us. When I picked him up he was all jazzed and didn't want to leave. I finally was able to get him away with the promise that he will be back on Monday. So it was a fun first day experience! Oh and then our one and only car broke down... bummer

The Happiest Place on Earth

Yep thats right... Disneyland! Chris and I watched a 3 year old boy's dreams come true! When we would talk to him about Disneyland to him before we left we would say "Parker... we're going to Disneyland!" and he would say "and preschool"... we knew he obviously didn't get it. But he QUICKLY did when we pulled into the parking lot. He was too much! Waving at the pictures of Mickey in the parking structure. Then we rode the tram to the entrance... another wonderful thing. The whole time he was trying to hide his smile and play it cool, but he was freaking out inside! It was so super cute to watch. Then we got into the park and the first thing we did was go to city hall to get him a first time visitor pin, then off to Tomorrow Land. He did the rides like a champ. He wasn't too excited about the Buzz Lightyear ride... he put his head in his hands and buried his face most of the time. But we hit it all up... Dumbo, Teacups, Toon Town, Pirates of the Caribean, Jungle Cruise, etc... THEN off to California Adventure. He LOVED California Adventure! We went to Bug's Life world and he loved all the little rides and we even got to see Lightning McQueen driving down the street in the Pixar parade. His face was priceless!!!! He really couldn't believe it! Leaving Cal. Adventure we got a sucker for Parker and a carmel apple for Chris and I to share and headed back to Disneyland for the closing parade. Parker proudly sword fought in the street with his Mickey light saber and his Jack Sparrow Mickey ears (which of course he is wearing right now as he runs around the house). He waved at every character and ran to every ride, ate half a churro and a big sucker, was forced to take potty breaks, and pretty much had the best time ever. On the way home we asked him what he liked the best and he said he liked the Jungle Cruise (I think he thought all the animals were real), then he said "I'm tired like Silas" and closed his eyes and slept all the way home! it was a great trip!!!!!!!!

This Guy is For REAL

If ever there was a little boy who loved firefighters it's Parker! I mean get a load of this kid! You gotta love him. In the words of Jim Blythe (my dad) "The thing I love most about him is that he's dedicated"...
