Dedicating Silas

This morning we were blessed to have our little Silas Benjamin dedicated to the Lord. Our pastor Britt prayed a powerful prayer beseeching the Lord to cause him to know Him at an early age, to protect him for harm, to keep him walking in the ways of the Lord and to grow up in a home know that his mom and dad love Jesus and each other. He referenced 1 Samuel where Hannah dedicates baby Samuel to the Lord. So too we give our baby boy to Jesus. For Him to use his life for the furthering of the gospel and to be about His business! It's a joy to know this kid, let alone be his mother.

I GOT MOOBIES!!!

Dang...did anybody catch a glimpse of my little A cup a few blogs ago? I had no idea. Sorry about this folks. I will be more conscious in the future.

Tree Meets Boy

Come to find out the two do NOT go together when the tree meets boys FACE!!!!! We were at a birthday party tonight where Chris and Parker were in the front yard playing catch with a football. Parker get to get the ball and TOTALLY ran face first into a tree. That blasted tree smacked him RIGHT in the face where he has this nasty scrap down the whole right side of his face. Poor dude. He was super brave though!

Breakfast with the Boys

Here is a little clip of breakfast on the patio with Parker and Silas. Parker, the king of made up words, tells us about his strawberries and Silas is focused, as usual, on stuffing his face. We woke up to an amazingly beautiful day here, hence the eating outside. Todays lunch however, was a horse of a TOTALLY different color. They were eating chicken, oranges and cheetos with a special juice box and when I looked out to check on them their juice boxes were squirt out all over their table and everything was ruined.... I didn't video that. Enjoy!

House of sick kids, how can I help you?

This month (a random summer month of July) my kids have been sick on and off non stop! If it's not Parker then it's Silas, if not Silas then it's Parker, OR BOTH! We've had high fevers, mouth sores, sleepless nights, asthma, coughs and more. Currently Parker has a cough and Silas has some kind of chest thing. He has deep congestion and LOTS of green snot! He's on antibiotics and a nebulizer twice a day. He is such a trooper too. He just sits and watches his Barney and lets us hook him up to this machine. It's really a sad site, but hopefully this is the road to recovery. He always gets something in his chest! We take him in a few days to get blood work done to have him tested for allergies and we will continue to watch him for chronic asthma. Thanks all for who have been praying for my boys. Hopefully this month of sickness will be REALLY over soon!

Broegger, Jenkins and Elliott Pajama Jammie Jam

We had the privilege of hanging out with Theis and Allison Broegger (our Danish friends) and Dustin. It was just like the olden days! They came in Friday afternoon early morning. We immediately went to the Habit and had some burgers, then off to the Santa Barbara Zoo and ended the outing with a walk down State St. When we got home we ordered pizza and stayed up late talking about awesome Monterey memories like: blue mile times, the vid (which we are all dying to see again), bachelor parties, seaside tanning experiences, and much much more. Saturday we woke up to my kids in all their glory! After breakfast Allie and I were able to head out to get pedicures!!!! After lunch at Rudys we said bye to Dustin (who only lives in Camarillo), and then bye to Theis and Allie (who after their America adventures are heading back to Denmark). It was a super awesome time to catch up to some people we really love and miss. Thanks guys for making us part of your California vacation, we were honored to have you.

Lutz Come to Carp

Last week my sister Jayme and her kiddos came to Carp with my mom Jill. It took awhile for Isaac and Parker to warm up to each other, butt soon enough they were putting out fires, going on wagon rides, raging with the tents and tunnels, and of course the ever popular dance party. Seth wasn't there because he was back home in the AZ bringin home the big bucks, but Jayme, Isaac and baby Abby we're awesome company! Not to mention my mom! She was an amazing help and also great company!!!

Dance Praise Party

"put up your dukes"

This is a phrase that is uttered all too often in the Jenkins home! Thanks to my dad, who gave Parker a set of real boxing gloves. Silas puts up his dukes too. While playing "dukes" Parker insists on being called "The Strong Guy". Silas has no problem walking right up to you with his little fists and punching you right in the face. This cannot be a good habit that we are starting with our kids, but it's hilarious.

The Blue Eyed Wonder

I have never seen a set of bigger or bluer eyes then the ones that are on my toddler. He's too much!!!!!

Parker has taken up skateboarding full fledged. He loves it! We went to Target the other day and got him some pads to give us some piece of mind. Check it out.

VBS

It's hard to believe that our little Parky J is old enough to go to Vacation Bible School, but he is! He's been having an awesome time there at the First Baptist Church learning about Jesus and hanging out with his best bud and dude "Chubs". We haven't been able to get any good pictures of Parker in his class or practicing the songs or anything. These are the only one we've captured.

Like Silas Like Papa

Today Silas Benjamin is dressed like his Papa.

Happy 4th of July

Last night consisted of a lot of sugar and 3 raging 3 & 4 year olds! Chris, the boys, Nick, Jessica, Myles, Ricky, Keri, Chubs, Dustin and I went out to Ojai to watch the fireworks and let the kids rage. It was a nightmare getting there because I wasn't prepared with directions, but once we were there it was fun. Parker kept saying "oh my best good guys" aka Chubs and Myles. He couldn't have asked for a better time. While the big guys played frisbee Chris and Nick managed to pull a classic "Jenkins" and step in a huge pile of dog poop. It was awesome! We ate chili, cornbread, chips and candy while Uncle Nick hooked the kids up with some glow sticks (they were a HIT), and Chubs told an awesome knock knock joke. So while we we never did find the infamous dirt field that the rest of our friends were at we did enjoy the grass at the Catholic church. Thanks guys for enduring the funky directions and raging with us til 10 something at night. We love you guys! To everyone else we hope you guys had an awesome 4th of July and would recommend you all watch the John Adams series from HBO (it's at your local video store) it's awesome!

Sweet New Ride

Our apartment laundry room is host to some shelves of give away items. Usually crap! The other day there was a large wooden Catholic Jesus (wall decor?), there's usually ancient magazines, and right now I think there's a awful set of place mats. But much to my excitement last week was an awesome skateboard! Parker has been asking us for a skateboard for weeks! You can't imagine the look on his face when he walked in and saw it! Then as he rode it all the way back to our place he yelled out "thank you neighbor!!!! I get to keep it now!!!!" I really hope someone didn't want it and it wasn't a vicious act of an angry girlfriend or something. Either way it's Parker's! Chris asked him tonight to show the camera some moves and here's what we got...

Pastor Jim

The well off and established sometimes usher in midlife with a shiny red Corvette, or perhaps a Hummer, or even the all to rare Dodge Viper. Those not as financially free seem to make due with a Nissan Z or a used convertible Mazda Miata.
But not in the case of Pastor Jim Blythe, my father in law. Nope...he got himself TATTOOED instead! And in the true "all or nothing" spirit, chose to get them smack dab on his inner forearms! Grace and Truth inked in for all to gander. You have to see it to believe it. I love you Jim...you're pretty dang cool.

Note: Pastor Jim loves the Lord with all his heart and loves to see the lost come to know HIM. That is the true reason for the tattoos...not necassarily his midlife status.

Silly Dudes

These guys are too much! Silas has recently been obsessed with these Shrek ears and Parker with Mr. Potato head mustaches (maybe from Chris' foul display the other day). These guys always keep me laughing... even when they are naughty and dump out all their toy boxes and fuss at me all day they still manage to crack me up!

Our Niece Jenna

Last week Chris and I had the joy of having another girl in the house... our niece Jenna (Micah & Stephanie's daughter). She is 9 and FULL of life! She's funny, cute and come to find out gets REALLY wacky with sugar after hours!!! We went to the beach, scrap booked, did hair and make up, took pictures, watched a lot of Pee Wee Herman, and went to the zoo where she fed the giraffes. This is one special girl. Here are some pictures of our awesome visit.
