Trusting in the Lord's Character

This seems to be a yearly lesson for me for some reason, and it's no fun. I have been waiting on the Lord for some change in our lives and asking the Lord to give me peace that this is how it's always going to be or encouragement that change is around the corner and so far of 2008 the Lord has still remained silent on this issue. Anyone who has struggled with His silence knows what I'm talking about... it's deafening! But here is what I DO know... the character of my Lord is that of a Father. He is ALWAYS working things out for GOOD because He loves me! He knows the number of hairs on my head. His thoughts towards me are more then the sand on the shore. He desired to have me in eternity so much that He willingly endured the cross. EVERY spiritual blessing is mine already. (You see how I am reminding myself of these things even as I write)
So to anyone who is waiting on the Lord or is buying into the lie that the Lord doesn't hear you remember this... HE DOES! He is for us and NOT against us! We are of more value to Him than many sparrows. We can rest assured that He IS working on our behalf for HIS glory!

Then and Now Bath time...

Here are some then and now pictures of Silas and his bath time. Sad how fast they grow!

Close Encounters

It was amazing how close the gorilla was at the zoo today. He was sitting right up next to the glass because it's the only place in this area that has covering. So note to self the time to see the animals is on cold semi rainy days. It was awesome. Thank you mom and dad for the zoo pass... we LOVE it!!!!

My firefighting is no easy business!

Here is Parker's first wound from being a fire fighter. Yep! He jumped off the couch with the vacuum hose (aka a fire hose) and in his landing his eye fell right on the end of the hose! Praise the Lord he didn't bust his eyeball open!

Breakfast with the boys

These are two precious faces to have cereal with. And YES it is a sugar cereal. I'm okay with getting the worst mother of the year award for serving fruity pebbles to my toddler.... we have fun eating it and looking at the box.... something Kashi does NOT offer!!!

the men in my life...

These three guys are my pride and joy!!!!

How do kids grow so fast?!

I was just thinking that when we moved to the promise land.... IE...Carpinteria, Parker was just barley over a year old. He still drooled all the time and was just starting to walk (he was a late bloomer in this area). He only said a few words and the one most frequently used was NO! He was still signing all the time. Oh man he was cute. Here are some contrast pictures of what I am talking about. The first is Parker James first settling into Carp and then one of Parker now. MAN HE'S GROWN SOOO MUCH!! He is so stinking smart. Today he told me "Mommy I need to go to work now so drop me off in Santa Barbara". Oh the list goes on of all the Parkerisms!!!!!!

Scavenger Boy

Silas is the biggest scavenger you ever met. He eats EVERYTHING off the floor. Yesterday he got a hold of some blue playdoh. He was the happiest boy in the world! Other things we have found in Silas's mouth are sticks, pine needles, rocks, hair, used tissue, shoes, book pages, our ibook power cord, fruity pebbles, and much much more!

Some Jokes Never Fail

Like the mini marshmallow teeth... Chris and I laughed our butts off!

"public announcement"

i have been workin with dominic balli for about a year on our first full length release entitled "public announcement". the cd has come along way since we fist began putting it together. with percussion by legendary luis conte, and featured artists such as paul wright, proclaim from shachah, and possibly speech from the old school group "arrested development". we are in the twilight hour if you will. vocals are being recorded as i type. our family needs prayer in this time as i am gone about 18 hours out of every day. and it will be like that for about two weeks or so. its all good because it is definitely what the Lord has called me to, but trying nonetheless. i will keep you updated as we get down to the nitty gritty.

we are very excited, as of now we are lookin at a release of most likely march. with my own ep release a couple months after.

well...he's mobile, and may God have mercy on our souls

seriously, we have been up to this point, holding ourselves back from intentionally stunting Silas' growth and development. its been hard but we have remained faithful parents. but now we find ourselves in a state of denial as reality begins to rear its ugly head. silas is becoming a big boy. its good but i am bummed. hes just a tiny baby.

now he walks...thus begins toddler times. its all over.
