We celebrated Parker's 5th birthday yesterday, in Star Wars fashion. Parky has been into Star Wars (never watched the movie till yesterday) since he saw his cousin myles with a Darth Vader suit a few months ago. Ever since, he has been infatuated with everything Star Wars. so naturally he asked for a Star Wars themed b-day...which we obliged, we did everything from Yoda Soda, Pin The LightSaber on The Jedi, Vader Pinata and LightSaber fights, all with Star Wars music and souneffects in the background. It was Epic. Parky had so much fun. All gifts were pretty much Star Wars too, which he was super stoked about. We had a blast, but most of all the kids really dug it too, here is some pix...

I know I know...
Here's the thing... Facebook has taken us over. I post everything there and it seems awfully mundane to be posting everything twice. Not to mention it takes so much longer to post things here! But nonetheless here are some updates (so that you no longer have to look at the rocker pictures of my man.. lol)
Myles Turns 5 / Parker gets a Driver
I am too lazy to make two separate posts so I am merging these two together :) Myles had a super duper fun birthday at the Lopez Water Sildes. Parker, Chubs, Myles, Jessica and I drove out there and watched the kids just go for it! Then we went to Burger for some yummy food and transformer toys, then off to build our own frozen yogurts and as if that weren't enough we went back to Grandma Tina's house for some cake and presents. Jess did a great job planning and all the kids had like the best time ever!
Oh and when Jayme was here she gave Parker one of Isaac's kid driver clubs and he has had SO much fun with it! Yesterday Chris took him to the driving range here in Ventura and bought him a basket of balls and let him go for it. He loved it but was dumbfounded as to why he couldn't hit the ball as far and as hard as the grown men around him :)

Life with a Back Yard
I love finding myself saying things like "go outside", "dig all you want outside", "let's water the yard", "we did yard work today" and things of the like. It's awesome! Being in Ventura has been SO SO different and I would still move back to Carp at the drop of a hat, but it's slowly starting to be more and more familiar. Nothing beats having our own garage, washer and dryer and OUR YARD!!!!!! Right now the grass is struggling to say the least and there is a lot of dirt, but they don't care. We on the other hand have started cleaning out leaves, watering plants and grass and getting rid of old dog poop and junk that the previous tenants left behind. It's been fun to work on. We have a lot of ideas. The boys are really really really enjoying the dirt in the mean time :)
Theme Birthday Parties
After Selah and Micah's birthday parties I am really going to have to kick it up about 40 notches this year for Parker's birthday. Selah wanted to have a "kitty" birthday party and Emily outdid herself. All the kids got their faces painted, wore collars, kitten ears and some even wore tails. They played kitty games. They even got kitty toys in their party bags.
Kristen rocked it at Micah's party too!!!! Her dad is a firefighter and brought his fire truck to the party. Let the kids spray the hose, climb a ladder, sit all over the truck, and even got to go for a ride in the truck!!!! As if that wasn't enough each kid got to take home their own t-shirts saying firefighter and their name. It was awesome!!!
I have some serious work to do for October. Thankfully it's months away :)
The Clubhouse
Now that we live in Ventura we have the luxury of enjoying "big town" things. Like the Clubhouse. This place is awesome. It's a mother's dream. It's a completely inclosed play place that's SUPER clean. Kids can play play play for as long as you want while parents sit in comfortable seats, eat whatever snacks you have brought, maybe use their internet (they have computers set up for your use) and then once your kids are worn out to the bone you go home and have a peaceful nap while you kids are fed and everything. It's amazing. I really haven't caught the splendor of this place in these pictures, but you get the point.

Happy Birthday Chris Jenkins
28 years ago on Monday my mother in law spent the most rewarding hours of her life birthing my husband Christopher Matthew Jenkins. He has been a pillar of strength and my bestest bestest friend for 6 +years. He works hard. He makes me laugh. He's an outstanding father. And much more. I love you Chris Jenkins.... always have always will (spoken in YOUR Mel Gibson impression of course).
P.S. We were able to get away from Sunday to Tuesday this week out to La Quinta in the desert. This place is amazing. We spend my family reunions there but to be there alone was, as I am SURE you can imagine, WONDERFUL!
